It is no secret that Nashville, Tennessee is thriving when it comes to growth. The city is attracting people from all over the country looking for jobs in a ﬂourishing town. Nashville has become known as a hub for entrepreneurs in various industries, especially women-owned businesses and companies led by a female executive member.
Today, there are nearly 13 million women-owned businesses in the United States, making that 42% of businesses in the country owned by a woman. Tennessee is tied for No. 5 for most women-owned businesses. There are currently over 4,756 women-owned businesses, big and small, in the Greater Nashville area, according to the Nashville Chamber.
In 2002, Carolina Junghans decided to leave the comfort of her corporate job and start her own business. She was in her twenties and looking for a career where she could be involved in the numbers and strategic growth of a company, while simultaneously being surrounded by the creativity of the Branded Merchandise world. Carolina wanted to witness a project from start to ﬁnish, while also creating the tone of her work environment and hand-picking her work family with her younger brother, Daniel Gardner. Thus, creating Blink Marketing, Inc.

We are currently a 75% female/25% male ofﬁce made up of the most amazingly fun, smart, loyal, creative, team-focused group of people. While the thought of being a woman owned company doesn’t cross my mind on a day to day basis, the moments my daughters make comments like “I want to run a business like my mommy when I grow up” reminds me of the importance of giving young girls another viable path to consider for their futures,” says Carolina.

They are a leading advocate for women entrepreneurs and businesses. WBENC understands the challenges women face when it comes to building and growing a business. Their goal is to become a resource for women business owners for education, support and tools they need to grow and succeed.
